Animal Planet is also available for viewing exclusively on Bilibili. Founded in 1996, Animal Planet is the world’s first television channel dedicated to animal-related footages that showcase their habits, relationships, and many anecdotes.

Now, Bilibili has revamped its image into one of the largest documentary producers and platforms in China. Last year, a documentary about antique repairs named Masters in Forbidden City unexpectedly attracted massive attention on the platform. Bullet comments like “Master Wang is so handsome” (Master Wang is the craftsman in the documentary) floated across the screen, indicating an increasing trend of young audience’s interests in traditional culture.

Tony Qiu, general manager of Discovery Greater China, said, “Bilibili has gathered a lot of young viewers who have strong interests in documentaries. In the future, we are looking to make full use of Discovery’s powerful creativity and production, combined with Bilibili‘s user profiles, to present more excellent collaborated contents to the young Chinese audience.”
