Gartner: Alibaba Cloud’s IaaS Infrastructure Capability Ranks First Globally, Surpassing Amazon and Google

According to Gartner’s recent report titled “Gartner Solution Scorecard 2021”, released on Wednesday, Alibaba Cloud’s IaaS infrastructure capability took first place in the world, and received the highest scores in the four core evaluations, including computing, storage, network and security. This is also the first time that a Chinese cloud service provider has surpassed international conglomerates such as Amazon, Microsoft and Google.

Gartner’s Scorecard is one of the most authoritative cloud computing evaluation reports in the industry. The evaluation targets large companies in the tech sphere, including Amazon, Microsoft, Alibaba Group, Google, IBM, Oracle, and many others. The evaluation consist of 9 categories and 270 sub-items such as computing, storage, network, security, software infrastructure, stability, operation and digital business infrastructure.

In the core product capability evaluation, Alibaba Cloud scored 96 points in computing, 96 points in storage, 95 points in network and 94 points in security, all of which were the highest scores. The total score of its IaaS infrastructure reached 96 (out of 100 points).
