Honor 60 Series Equipped with Snapdragon 778G+, Starting from $424

On Wednesday night, Honor officially released its Honor 60 series smartphone, including the Honor 60 and Honor 60 Pro. These new devices will go on sale on December 10th.

The Honor 60 Pro has a quad-curved display which the company argues leads to a smoother in-hand feel. The Honor 60 also has a curved display but only on two sides. The color options for the new phones’ include autumnal, dark green, shiny blue or black.

The Honor 60 is equipped with a 6.67 inch OLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 2400 × 1080 resolution, and supports 1920MHz high-frequency PWM dimming. The phone is equipped with the Snapdragon 778G chipset and supports 66W fast charging to its built-in 4800mAh battery. The phone keeps the 8 MP ultra wide cam from the previous generation. The third module on the back is a 2 MP depth sensor.

The second device, the Honor 60 Pro, is equipped with a 6.78-inch 120Hz FHD+ display, which supports 1920MHz high-frequency PWM dimming. This model is equipped with a Snapdragon 778G+ chipset and also supports 66W fast charging. The company says the device can be charged to 50% power within 15 minutes. For the camera, the Pro model sports an upgraded ultra wide-angle camera with a 50 MP sensor and a field of view of 122º.

Honor is continuously exploring the various expressions of the younger generations and is actively finding and solving difficulties young vloggers may encounter.

Users can’t access the shooting button when shooting a Vlog with a selfie stick or tripod. Using Honor 60 series, users do not need to touch the screen with their hands, but only need to gesture from a distance to complete the process.

In terms of pricing, the Honor 60 has three versions to choose from: 8 + 128GB version sells for 2699 yuan, the 8 + 256GB version is sold for 2999 yuan, while the 12 + 256GB version is sold for 3299 yuan. The Honor 60 Pro has two versions: 8 + 256GB version is priced at 3,699 yuan, while the 12 + 256GB version is priced at 3999 yuan.

At the press conference, Honor’s CEO Zhao Ming illuminated Honor’s achievements throughout 2021. As of October, the Honor 50 series has gone on sale in over 40 countries around the world. Since its listing, the sales volume of the Honor 50 series ranks first among smartphones in the 2000 to 4000 yuan price range.

Later on, Zhao Ming introduced Honor’s intelligent manufacturing factory which has just been completed in Pingshan, Shenzhen. The R&D staff of the factory accounted for 20% of all staff and the automation rate of production line exceeds 75%. On average, one smartphone rolled off the production line every 28.5s while the wages of workers are 50% higher than those of the industry standard.
