JMGO, ROEHL and More Partners Join 2020 League of Legends World Championships

On Aug. 3, China’s League of Legends esports operator TJ Sports unveiled the partners for the 2020 League of Legends World Championships (S10), including four Chinese official partners, six Chinese special partners, and two global partners.

According to the announcement, Chinese smartphone brand OPPO and global financial service Mastercard are named as the global partners of S10. Chinese dairy brand Momchilovtsi, spring water Wahaha, energy drink Warhorse, and global food brand KFC are named as the Chinese official partners, while S10 brings e-commerce platform Suning, SPD Bank’s credit card service, Intel, Logitech G, and two new entrants, JMGO and ROEHL as the Chinese special partners.

The S10 will be hosted in Shanghai from September 25 to October 31.

In China’s League of Legends esports scene, OPPO is also the global partner of the Chinese esports organization FunPlus Pheonix, while Suning has its own League of Legends Pro League (LPL) team called Suning Esports.

JMGO is an intelligent projector brand owned by Shenzhen-based technology company Lehuo Technology Co. Ltd, which was founded in 2011. In 2018, the company closed its ¥600 million ($86 million) D series funding round, led by Chinese giant Alibaba Group, according to Chinese credit and rating tool Tianyancha.

In addition, ROEHL is a Shanghai-based home appliance company, which focuses on green and environmental protection, with its main product being an air purifier. According to its exclusive poster for S10, ROEHL created the “ROEHL X S10” co-branded air purifier for the event.

It should be noted that the founder of ROEHL, Johnson Yeh, is also the former head of China and Southeast Asian Region at Riot Games, the League of Legends developer. He was also the man who was in charge of LPL, and opened the “home-away” system for the league in 2018. He gave a speech at the 2017 China Esports Industrial Summit, and expressed his mission to “Make LPL become China’s top sports event in three years.” Now, LPL has become one of the biggest esports competitions in China.
