Mi Camera Glasses Add Animal and Plant Recognition Function

Mi Camera Glasses, a product of Xiaomi’s Mijia ecosystem, announced over-the-air upgrades on September 10, providing support for new functions such as animal and plant identification.

This function has been promoted by the firm as “a small encyclopedia in front of your eyes.” Meanwhile, a “combat points” detection feature can intelligently estimate the value of an object, enhancing the interest of wearing the glasses. Besides, this OTA update also improves anti-shake effects, which can improve the stability of shots while walking.

Mi Camera Glasses started crowdfunding on August 3. The crowdfunding price of this device was 2,499 yuan ($361), and limited pairs of clip-ons worth 299 yuan were given away with the product during the period. On August 16, the crowdfunding amount of this product exceeded 10 million yuan, setting a new record for the amount of Mi chain products in 2022. On September 6, the product was officially put on sale for a price of 2,699 yuan.

Weighing only 100g, this product is equipped with a 50-MP Quad Bayer four-in-one wide-angle camera and an 8-MP periscope telephoto camera with split OIS optical anti-shake.

It can realize 5x optical zoom and 15x mixed zoom. User can adjust the zoom by sliding a small touchpad on the right arm, switch shooting mode by sliding down, take pictures or record videos by clicking, and realize more functions by pressing with two fingers for a longer time.

In addition, Mi Camera Glasses can be connected to smartphones through an app, enabling functions such as quickly transferring photos, applying filters to shots and sharing images with just one click.

Mi Camera Glasses are also equipped with a Snapdragon 8-core independent computing platform, adopting the combination of Micro OLED panel and free-form optical prism, with a light efficiency ratio of 60%. They have also passed TÜV Rheinland hardware low blue light certification, and the screens are clear and eye-protecting in sunny environments.
