The firm previously launched a DJI Mic for the global market, but the previous version included two wireless transmitters, a dual-channel receiver and a charging case, priced at 2,299 yuan in mainland China. The new version removes a transmitter and the charging case, making it 800 yuan cheaper.

According to DJI’s official website, the new version is suitable for single-person video creation and single-person livestreaming. The five-hour battery life meets the needs of vlogging and online courses, and the price is more affordable.

The DJI Mic can realize wireless radio reception distance as far as 250 meters, and the weight of the transmitter and receiver is no more than 30 grams. It has clip magnets which users can attach a transmitter to whatever they’re wearing. The receiver is equipped with a 0.95-inch OLED touch screen, which can intuitively operate various functions and remotely control the transmitter.

The transmitter comes with 8GB of built-in storage, which can hold 48kHz 24-bit uncompressed audio for up to 14 hours. It can also be used as a recording device and can be directly connected to a computer through the data cable, and the recording files can be quickly exported.

The DJI Mic receiver supports USB-C, Lightning and 3.5 mm TRS jacks, and is compatible with mainstream mobile phones, cameras and computers.

Before the release of the DJI Mic, the Chinese tech company had carried out some explorations in the audio field with the Osmo Action and DJI Pocket 2, and had accumulated certain technologies. When the DJI Pocket 2 was launched in 2020, a wireless microphone was released simultaneously, which was the first attempt at modular output of accessories in the audio field by DJI.

But at that time, this small audio accessory was only a solution output with handheld products. The launch of the DJI Mic marks that the audio module existing as a “supporting solution” has become a more complete and independent product. Now, the new version makes the product more flexible and adaptable to the needs of more users.
