OPPO Presents MVP Award at League of Legends World Championship Final

Chinese smartphone maker OPPO presented its flagship device, OPPO Reno 2, and the MVP award at the conclusion of the League of Legends (LoL) 2019 World Championship in Paris on November 10. The final ended following Chinese e-sports organization FunPlusPhoenix’s victory against European team G2.

OPPO was officially announced in September as the exclusive global smartphone partner for LoL Esports international events, which include the World Championships. This long-term alliance with LoL publisher Riot Games will run for 5 years until 2024, and marks OPPO’s further exploration outside of smart devices, starting with the field of e-sports.

“OPPO is thrilled to be part of this exciting tournament, which gives us an ideal opportunity to share our brilliant Reno 2 with fans from across the region,” said Brian Shen, OPPO Vice President and President of Global Marketing. “Following its recent launch in Europe, we’re excited to offer fans the first-hand experience of Reno 2’s leading camera technology and cutting-edge gaming optimization, which brings drastically improved gameplay response, making it the perfect device for every gamers.”

This year’s tournament, which kicked off in Berlin on October 2, with 24 teams going head-to-head in a series of death matches. OPPO set up an experience booth between November 5 to 10 to present both the MVP award and its flagship smartphone Reno 2, which was recently launched in Europe in October.

League of Legends joins OPPO’s roster of premier sport partners such as Wimbledon, FC Barcelona, the International Cricket Council as well as another mobile Esports tournament – the Tencent Playerunknown Battle Ground Mobile Challenger Cup.

Through this partnership, League of Legends Esports aims to further enhance fans’ live event and viewing experience around its global sporting events, while OPPO’s long-term commitment to the industry enables them to better engage with the growing player base of LoL.

As the first global presenting partner for the MVP award, OPPO is proud to announce TIAN as this tournament’s MVP, who gave a stunning performance during the tournament. As well as awarding TIAN with a brand-new Reno 2, Nicolo, the Riot Games CEO, also took the selfie with the MVP using OPPO Reno 2 on stage, highlighting the handset’s new camera technology.

Attendees were also able to go through an AR experience at OPPO booth to bring to life a Paris-themed map of Summoner’s Rift, the in-game map on which LoL battles take place.
