Xiaomi Unveils Xiaomi 13 Ultra Smartphone, Co-Engineered with Leica

Xiaomi 13 Ultra, the latest result of Xiaomi and Leica’s collaboration in further advancing mobile imaging technology, debuted today at a launch event on April 18. Several new products were also unveiled at the event.

At the press conference, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun stated that Xiaomi‘s R&D investment in 2022 was 16 billion yuan ($2.33 billion), a year-on-year increase of 21%. He also said that the firm will invest 20 billion yuan this year.

He said, “Xiaomi‘s high-end strategy has made significant progress. Last year, we released three high-end flagship smartphones. The user satisfaction rate of the Xiaomi 12S Ultra, Xiaomi MIX Fold 2, and Xiaomi 13 series on e-commerce platforms all exceeded 98%. We have confidence and ability to make high-end smartphones that satisfy Xiaomi fans.”

This mobile phone is now available for pre-sale and will go on sale on April 21.

In addition to the new flagship phone Xiaomi 13 Ultra, Xiaomi has also released a professional imaging kit priced at 799 yuan, which includes a nano leather protective case, a 67mm adapter ring, a lens cover, and a wireless photography handle that supports two-stage shutter button and zoom function.

Announced with Xiaomi 13 Ultra is Xiaomi Smart Band 8, priced at 239 yuan. It features a high-resolution 1.62” full AMOLED screen and a new metal texture frame, additionally offering different material straps which can be easily changed with a single click.

Xiaomi Smart Band 8 also offers a variety of accessories that allow affixing the device to shoes or necklaces. In addition to offering fast charging, the device also has improved battery life. With a new light sensor, Xiaomi Smart Band 8 supports automatic adjustment according to ambient light intensity.

Also launched today are Xiaomi Pad 6 Series. This series starts at a price of 1899 yuan. The Xiaomi Pad 6 adopts the Snapdragon 870 chipset, while the Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro is equipped with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset.

The Xiaomi Pad 6 series features a Unibody all-metal integrated body with a hidden antenna design. It is equipped with an 11-inch 2.8k ultra-clear high refresh rate screen. It supports strict color calibration and is equipped with four speakers for a surround sound immersive audio experience.

Xiaomi Master Series 86 Inch Mini LED

Xiaomi Master Series 86 Inch Mini LED is priced at 14,999 yuan. It uses a 1080 partition backlight with a brightness of up to 2000 nits, and a contrast ratio of 6.7 million:1. It also has a display specification of 4K at 144Hz with a color depth of 10 bits and covers 99% DCI-P3 color gamut.

This TV adopts a 9-unit sound system with a high power of 70W, a 9-unit frequency division, and a 3.1 surround sound field. It is equipped with a quad-core A73 processor, along with 4GB of memory and 64GB of flash storage. The interfaces include two HDMI 2.1 ports, one HDMI 2.0 port, one USB 3.0 port, and one USB 2.0 port as well as optical fiber, network cable, and antenna interfaces.

Xiaomi has launched a new product in its Xiaomi Sound series, the Xiaomi Sound Move portable smart speaker designed for outdoor scenarios, priced at 699 yuan.

The Xiaomi Sound Move features two high-fidelity full-range units and two passive radiators, with HARMAN professional tuning. With its positioning for outdoor scenarios, this speaker has IP66 shockproof and waterproof performance and boasts a super-long battery life of up to 21 hours, making it suitable for outdoor entertainment such as camping parties.

The Xiaomi Sound Move supports stereo pairing of up to eight speakers simultaneously via Bluetooth 5.3, AirPlay 2, or Type-C audio connections. As part of the Xiaomi smart ecosystem, it also supports interconnectivity with other products such as Xiaomi smartphones, tablets, computers, and TVs through the Mi Home app.
