BYD Qin Plus DM-i Champion Edition to Be Launched February 10

As a popular model in BYD’s Dynasty series, the Qin Plus DM-i’s Champion Edition will be launched on February 10. According to several media outlets, the new vehicle will be equipped with an 8.8-inch full LCD screen and feature a cruising range increasing from 1200km to 1310km.

The BYD Qin Plus DM-i Champion Edition continues the design of the existing model, but adds an exterior jade blue color, and two more colors to the interior, brown and blue. In addition, the new car has upgraded the seats with new punching technology, which increases the air permeability of the seats and gives consideration to practicality and beauty.

In terms of configuration, the latest DiLink 4.0 system, 8 speakers, front seat heating function, one intelligent key, and one NFC card key will be applied to the new car. In terms of power, the car is equipped with the DM-i super hybrid system, in which the 1.5L engine has a maximum power of 81kW, peak torque of 135N·m and a thermal efficiency of 43%.

According to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, Berkshire Hathaway backed by Warren Buffett, sold 1,554,500 H shares of BYD on January 27, with a value of HK $351.81 million, reducing BYD’s shareholding ratio from 13.04% to 12.9%. This is the second time since 2023 that HKEx has disclosed Berkshire Hathaway’s reduction of BYD shares, and the eighth time since Buffett’s first reduction in August 2022.

With the disclosure of January production and sales data by various new energy vehicle companies, it is not difficult to see that in the first month of the withdrawal of state subsidy, market growth was weak. The delivery quantity of various vehicle companies all dropped sharply compared with December of last year. Compared with the same period in 2021, only BYD, Li Auto and AITO achieved positive growth.
