BYD Yuan Plus to Be Released February 19

Netcom learned from BYD that the company will release its new EV, the Yuan Plus, on February 19th. This is BYD’s first pure electric SUV featuring the company’s Platform 3.0.

The vehicle has been on pre-sale since January 1 and has received over 20,000 orders so far. The vehicle retails between 132,800 yuan ($20,930) and 152,800 yuan.

For the Yuan Plus, BYD is adopting the Dragon Face 3.0 design. Its length, width and height are 4455 mm, 1875 mm and 1615mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 2720mm.

Inside, the vehicle features personalized designs such as dumbbell-style air conditioning vents, grip-style door handles, thrust-style electronic gear lever and treadmill-style central armrests. In addition, this model will adopt a 15.6-inch center control screen with a built-in DiLink 4.0 (4G) intelligent and connected system.

For power, the vehicle adopts a motor with a maximum output of 150 kW and a peak torque of 330 N·m and will take only 7.3 seconds to go from 0km/h to 100km/h. In addition, the standard car model features a blade battery and a third-generation battery intelligent temperature control management system which will provide functions such as power-off protection. There will be two endurance versions released, one that can go 430 km, the other 510 km.

In addition, BYD has decided to expand its reach overseas. In December last year, the company’s Singapore Branch announced a cooperation agreement with local distributor E-Auto with whom they would officially launch the Yuan Plus in Q2, 2022.
