Flying with Brown the Bear: DJI Launches its First “Characterized Drone”

DJI announced on August 6th its first “characterized drone,” a partnership product with LINE FRIENDS, adding fun to the drone technology.

The new LINE FRIENDS (BROWN) l Spark drone features Brown, the poker-faced bear that appears in every LINE FRIENDS merchandise, making the mini-drone more playful and accessible.

LINE FRIENDS, known for its original characters, has managed to promote their IP merchandise to 108 countries, including many countries where the Line app is not even commonly used.

“Through the collaboration with LINE FRIENDS, we hope that drones can become a part of our everyday life by making aerial shooting simpler, more interesting and more personal,” said Monica Suk, senior communication manager at DJI.

Spark is by far the smallest and lightest drone by DJI, with measures of 143 mm×143 mm× 55 mm and 0.3 kilogram in weight.

But the size doesn’t compromise its functions. Spark is able to launch within seconds to shoot 12 megapixel photos and 1080p videos stabilized with a two-axis mechanical gimbal. It also features intelligent functions such as QuickShot, TapFly, ActiveTrack and Gesture.

The LINE FRIENDS (BROWN) l Spark set, contains an aircraft, a remote controller, one battery, three pairs of propellers, two RC cables and one USB charger. It is priced at $399 and will be available for online purchase and at its flagship stores in North America, mainland China, Hong Kong, and South Korea.
