Honor Launches the Last Flagship of 2018 – Honor V20

Neither the gamer nor the Instagrammer will be disappointed with the last Chinese flagship of the year. The new Honor V20 released on Dec. 26 sports the powerful Kirin 980 chipset, plenty of RAM for a smooth gaming experience, and triple rear cameras for taking ultra-clear photos.

The back of the phone is gorgeous with a V-shaped design visible in the light. It comes in three colors: midnight black, ocean blue, and charm red. It features a 6.4-inch full-HD+ TFT LCD display with a 91.82 percent screen-to-body ratio, and 398ppi pixel density.

The main selling point is its rear cameras, which include a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor with f/1.8 aperture, 960fps slow-motion video recording support, autofocus, AI HDR, and LED flash support. There’s a secondary 3D Time of Flight (ToF) sensor to capture image depth, and can be used for full body beautifying effects such as waist slimming and leg elongation.

As for the selfie camera, the V20 sports a punch-hole camera design with the lens placed in the top left corner. The camera shaft is just 4.5mm in size, making it the smallest and most non-invasive in the industry according to the company. It also ships with the virtual assistant Yoyo.

The Honor V20 comes with a 4,000mAh battery with support for fast charging and runs on the Android 9.0 Pie-based MagicUI 2.0.1. It is powered by the latest HiSilicon Kirin 980 SoC paired with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM. Inbuilt storage is offered at 128GB with no options for external storage expansion.

Honor also released an extra fashionable edition in cooperation with Italian fashion brand Moschino. The fashion phone has a larger storage capacity and comes with 8GB RAM +256GB ROM.

The V20 is priced at $435 for the 6GB+128GB version, $507 for an 8GB+128GB variant, and $580 for the Moschino Edition.

The flagship will launch globally on Jan. 22 next year under the name Honor View 20.
