Leapmotor’s Founder Resigned

According to a report by Chinese media outlet Jiemian, Wu Baojun, the co-founder and president of Chinese EV manufacturer Leapmotor, has resigned. Leapmotor will no longer have a president position.

Wu Baojun joined Leapmotor in May 2020, where he was responsible for business development, marketing, manufacturing, and supply chain management. Prior to joining Leapmotor, he had worked at Peugeot, Guangzhou Honda, Guangzhou Toyota, and Zhongcheng Insurance.

A source close to Leapmotor revealed that Wu Baojun has not been involved in the operation of the company for a year. Over the past year, he has mainly been responsible for strategy and government affairs, and his departure will not have much impact on the company’s operations.

In December 2023, Leapmotor delivered 18,618 new cars, a year-on-year increase of 119%. In 2023, it delivered a total of 144,155 cars, a year-on-year increase of over 29%. Since its establishment, the total number of deliveries has exceeded 300,000.
