Li Auto: 5C Supercharging Pile Officially Put into Use on March 1st

As of February 25, 2024, a total of 344 Li Auto Supercharging Stations have been put into operation nationwide, covering 114 cities. The official announcement states that on March 1st, the Li Auto 5C supercharging piles will be officially put into use.

According to the introduction, each Li Auto 5C supercharging station will be equipped with 1-2 Li Auto 5C chargers and 2-7 Li Auto 2C chargers. Li MEGA users can charge for 12 minutes using a 5C charger to replenish energy for a distance of 500 kilometers, or charge for 25 minutes using a 2C charger to replenish energy for a distance of 500 kilometers.

In terms of parameters, the Li Auto 5C pile single-pile peak charging power is 520kW, peak output current is 740A, maximum output voltage is 1000V, gun line weight is 3.5kg, and can be easily operated with one hand.

It is worth mentioning that the Li Auto 5C pile does not support the Li Auto L series extended-range models. Officials stated that Li Auto extended-range models can fully meet charging needs using 2C piles, taking about 30 minutes to charge from 20% to 80% battery level. In order to alleviate anxiety about fast charging for new energy vehicles, the 5C pile will be opened up for use by other brands’ high-voltage pure electric vehicle models that have passed safety matching tests.

According to the plan, Li Auto‘s charging network will be completed by the end of 2024 with over 700 5C supercharging stations and more than 1300 city supercharging stations. The goal is to cover 90% of national highways by 2025.

Li Auto also stated that by 2024, the charging network will cover 50% of core urban areas in third-tier cities and above. By 2025, it will cover 90% of core urban areas in fourth-tier cities and above. The peak power of a single pile charger reaches 520kW, achieving a charging speed of “12 minutes for 500 kilometers.”

According to the official introduction, the electric power strategy is an important part of Li Auto‘s dual-energy strategy, which includes the construction of a high-speed 5C supercharging network to achieve the goal of charging 500 kilometers in 12 minutes.

The Li Auto 5C supercharging station parking spaces are equipped with independent cameras, which automatically complete functions such as vehicle occupancy sensing, automatic lowering of ground locks, and reporting of safety issues; the operating status and charging situation are automatically transmitted back to the cloud for analysis by the background system to identify and explore potential problems.

Li Auto‘s 2024 Spring Launch Event will be held on March 1st at 15:00, where the 2024 models Li L9, Li L8, and Li L7 will be introduced along with Li MEGA. Among them, Li MEGA is the first pure electric vehicle under the Li brand.
