Mobike’s Shared Cars to be Launched on the Bike-Sharing App Deliverable in October

China’s bike-sharing giant, Mobike Technology Co., unveiled its new shared car on April 19 in Beijing. Manufactured by Xinte Electric, a local electric car company out of the Guizhou province of China, the new shared automobile is called “DEV1 shared version”.

It is reported that the “DEV1 shared version” will be delivered in October of this year.

Xian Yue, the CEO and co-founder of Xinte, revealed that the first model of its A0 car has been completed. Mobike has previously announced their move into the car-sharing industry with Xinte as their first-choice partner.

According to Yue, Xinte is currently focusing on the complete car manufacturing while the operations and services will be handled by Mobike.

Early in November 2017, Mobike already announced that the trial run of its shared-vehicle business would take place in Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou province, covering administrative and business areas. Mobike will use new energy vehicles (NEV) as the first batch of its shared cars. Mobike will charge each use with two metrics: milage and time. Specifically, it will charge 0.1 yuan($0.02) per minute and one yuan($0.16) per kilometer.

Xinte Electric Vehicle Industry Co, though established less than one year ago, has been in the spotlight due to its cooperations with Mobike and FAW Group. In January of this year, Xinte has started an new branch with Beijing Mobike Technology Co. to provide the car rental service of electrical vehicles.

Meanwhile, the shared vehicles will be connected to the Mobike App, which means users can continue to use the bike-sharing app without switching to a different application for the car-sharing service. Users of Mobike can still benefit from the single-click smart unlocking, car returning, order payment and many other intelligent functions of the bike-sharing platform.
