Tesla China Denies that the Shanghai Factory Will Produce the New Version of Model Y

In response to the market rumors about Tesla’s Shanghai factory producing a new version of Model Y, Tesla China stated to reporters, ‘This is false information.’

On December 27th, media reports cited insider sources stating that Tesla is preparing to launch an upgraded version of the Model Y at its Shanghai factory. Production of this new model could potentially begin as early as mid-2024 in response to the increasingly intense competition in the Chinese market. The report indicates that compared to the upgraded Model Y released in October this year, the exterior and interior changes of the 2024 model will be more noticeable. The first batch of these latest Model Y vehicles will be produced at Tesla’s Phase II factory in Shanghai.
