The Nubia Z18 Mini was officially released on April 11. This is the 9th generation of the Nubia series, and it is also known as “Xiaoniu 9”.
In terms of appearances, Nubia Z18 Mini uses a 3D curved-glass on the back and it comes in five colors: diamond black, glacier white, jade pink, porcelain blue and Provence violet. The Provence violet edition uses a unique 3D glare glass design and with 382 color corrections by Nubia’s French team, it is said to be most beautiful Nubia phone yet.
In terms of configuration, Nubian Z18 Mini has a 5.7-inch 18:9 bezel-less screen, with a resolution of 2160 × 1080 pixels. It feels like a 5.2-inch phone in hand, equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660AIE processor, standardized RAM of 6GB, with two options of of 64GB or 128GB of storage, and a battery capacity of 3450mAh. It has pre-installed the customized Nubia UI system based on Android 8.1.
As for the cameras, Nubia Z18 Mini has two rear-facing cameras with 24MP + 5MP sensors an an aperture of f/1.7. It supports two focusing methods of phase detection auto focus (PDAF) and contrast ratio auto focus, focusing in as fast as 0.1 second. The front camera has a 8MP sensor, artificial intelligence algorithms, and intelligent selfie-beautification function.
In terms of other functions, the Nubia Z18 Mini comes with the exclusive Nubia voice command system. The system will intelligently find contacts or open applications based on the instructions, and it only takes one click to convert audio clips into texts.
The Nubia Z18 Mini 6GB + 64GB version is priced at 1,799 yuan ($286), and the 6GB + 128GB version is priced at 2,099 yuan ($339). The Provence edition is priced at 2,199 yuan ($350). The series will officially be available for purchase at 10:00 a.m. on April 19.
