The Sales Performance of New Energy Vehicles in China in November Has Been Released

At the beginning of each month, it is once again the day when various new energy vehicle companies release their rankings. The delivery data for November has also been officially released.

In order to boost sales at the end of the year, many car companies have recently launched price reduction promotions. This includes various brands such as BYD, GAC AION, and Leapmotor, which have successively introduced limited-time discount measures in an attempt to achieve their annual sales targets in the final moments.

From the delivery performance in November, among traditional brands, BYD still maintains a significant lead and is expected to achieve a sales target of 3 million units in the final month. In the new energy vehicle camp, NIO continues to hold the top spot with a substantial gap. Meanwhile, Xiaopeng Motors and Leap Motor are currently stable at around 20,000 vehicles, showing impressive performance.

Li Auto Achieves Annual Target Ahead of Schedule

Li Auto sales volume has reached a new high, with 41,030 new cars delivered in November, an increase of 172.9% compared to the same period last year. For two consecutive months, the delivery volume has exceeded 40,000 units, currently ranking first among new energy vehicle companies.

As of November 30, 2023, Li Auto has delivered a total of 325,677 vehicles throughout the year. It is worth mentioning that Li Auto has achieved its sales target of 300,000 vehicles for the year 2023 ahead of schedule.

Furthermore, Li Auto officials have stated that they have made sufficient preparations for sales, supply, manufacturing, and delivery capabilities, and will strive to achieve the goal of delivering 50,000 vehicles in December.

XPeng Motors’ sales in November reached 20,041 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 245%, setting a new record for monthly deliveries and surpassing the 20,000 mark for two consecutive months. Among them, XPeng G6 delivered 8,750 vehicles.

As of the end of November, XPeng Motors has delivered a cumulative total of 121,486 vehicles in 2023, surpassing the total deliveries for the entire year of 2022. However, it is certain that they will not be able to achieve this year’s sales target.

In November, NIO delivered a total of 15,959 new vehicles, an increase of 12.6% compared to the same period last year and relatively stable compared to the previous month. From January to November 2023, NIO delivered a total of 142,026 new vehicles, representing a growth rate of 33.1% year-on-year. The cumulative number of NIO‘s new vehicle deliveries has reached 431,582.

Although NIO‘s delivery volume has decreased compared to its peak, according to data, from January to October this year, NIO still maintains a strong foothold in the high-end pure electric vehicle market with an impressive market share of 60.6% for vehicles priced above 300,000 yuan (approximatly $42,050). Additionally, recently NIO has signed battery swapping service cooperation agreements with Changan and Geely successively, which proves that NIO‘s long-standing battery swapping model has gained industry recognition and holds promising prospects for the future.

AITO and Voyan’s Continuous Growth

Leapmotor continues to lead the second camp of new forces in the automotive industry. In November, it delivered 18,508 new vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 130%, which is basically on par with last month and shows a slight growth.

At present, the main selling models under Leapmotor are C01, C01 extended range, C11 and C11 extended range. With its super cost-effectiveness, it has firmly established its position in the fiercely competitive market. At the same time, during the Guangzhou Auto Show, its first global model C10 also made its debut in China and received considerable attention in the market with its simple appearance, technological interior design and high configuration.

According to the current information, the new car is expected to start pre-sales in January 2024 and complete deliveries within the first quarter. The specific pre-sale price has not been officially announced yet, but it is estimated to be in the range of 150,000-200,000 yuan (approximatly $21,025-28,033).

Neta Auto delivered a total of 12,506 vehicles in November, showing a slight increase compared to the previous month. As of the end of November 2023, Neta Auto has cumulatively delivered 370,411 vehicles.

The latest model of Neta, the Neta X, has recently started delivery. Currently, orders have exceeded 20,000 vehicles, and it is believed that with the increase in deliveries, overall sales are expected to further grow. In terms of overseas markets, Neta Auto’s first overseas factory located in Thailand has recently commenced production, and the first complete vehicle has officially rolled off the assembly line. Additionally, Neta has also launched new vehicles in countries such as Indonesia and Costa Rica recently. The overseas expansion is accelerating.

Zeekr delivered 13,104 new vehicles in November, a year-on-year increase of 19%, which is basically flat compared to the previous month. The cumulative deliveries have reached 180,000 vehicles.

Zeekr officially unveiled its first pure electric sedan, Zeekr 007, during the Guangzhou Auto Show. With its stylish and avant-garde exterior design as well as exceptional performance, it has the potential to become a bestseller. However, there is still some time before it is officially launched. Currently, Zeekr’s main selling model is still the Zeekr 001. However, there are reports that the Zeekr 001 will soon receive an annual upgrade with improvements in powertrain and other aspects while maintaining the same price. It can be anticipated that it will continue to be popular after the upgrade.

After a significant increase in sales last month, AITO experienced growth again in November, delivering a total of 18,827 new vehicles. Among them, the new M7 model delivered 15,242 units, with a cumulative delivery of 27,000 units.

The success of the new M7 has brought the previously sluggish market back into the mainstream camp. According to official data, within two and a half months of its launch, the sales volume of the AITO M7 model has exceeded 100,000 units.

Voyan has shown strong growth momentum since the second half of this year, with delivery volume achieving six consecutive increases. In November, 7,006 new vehicles were delivered, a year-on-year increase of 365% and a month-on-month increase of 15%. From January to November 2023, Voyan’s cumulative sales reached 40,535 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 129%.

On November 17th, the first plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) of Voyan, called Voyan Zhui Guang PHEV, started pre-sales at the Guangzhou Auto Show. The starting price for pre-sales is 266,900 yuan (approximatly $37,410). Within 5 hours, they received orders for 10,000 vehicles. Additionally, the new car will be officially launched on December 5th during Voyan Technology Day. After the release of Zhui Guang PHEV, Voyan’s other models including New Voyan FREE, New Dreamer Plus and Voyan Zhui Guang will also have both plug-in hybrid and pure electric versions available for sale. This will definitely contribute to future sales.

The Goal of BYD to Sell 3 Million Vehicles Annually Is Within Reach

BYD’s sales are still growing. In November, a total of 301,903 vehicles were sold, including 301,378 passenger cars, with a year-on-year growth of 31.1%.

In addition, BYD’s brands, including the FangChengBao and YuanWang, saw deliveries in November. The YuanWang brand delivered 408 vehicles, while the FangChengBao brand delivered 626 vehicles. From January to November 2023, BYD’s cumulative sales of passenger cars reached 2.672 million units. Furthermore, in December, BYD also launched limited-time discounts for several popular models, making it highly likely to achieve its sales target of 3 million units this year.

GAC AION sold 41,567 vehicles in November, a year-on-year increase of 45%. Compared to the peak period in September with 50,000 vehicles, there is still a significant gap. However, it has remained relatively stable at around 40,000 vehicles for the past two months.

In addition, its high-end brand model GAC AION HT started delivery in November. Official data shows that nearly 2000 units were delivered in the first half month after its launch, which is quite impressive. It remains to be seen if it can sustain this performance going forward. From January to November this year, GAC AION has accumulated sales of 434,056 vehicles, an increase of 80% compared to the same period last year. However, based on the current trend, there is still a certain gap from the sales target of 500,000 vehicles for this year.
